Stephen Hawking: Greed And Stupidity Are What Will End The Human Race

Stephen Hawking claims humanity must leave the Earth in the next 100 years.

Stephen Hawking Greed And Stupidity Are What Will End The Human Race

Stephen William Hawking (8 January 1942- 14 March 2018)  was a well known physicist, cosmologist, and English author. He was the director of research at the University of Cambridge at the time of his death.

Human beings are called the superior for their unique thinking ability, human might end up becoming the reason for their our extinction. The greed and selfishness of humans are increasing day by day without having concern about the future of our upcoming generation.

Stephen William Hawking always kept warning people about this when he was alive. Being foresighted with a powerful mind of his time, he was able to recognize the threat of mankind.

In an interview with Larry King of the Larry King Now talk show, Hawking talked about the climatic changes that wouldn’t be reversible.

“We are close to the tipping point where global warming becomes irreversible. Trump’s action could push the Earth over the brink, to become like Venus, with a temperature of two hundred and fifty degrees, and raining sulphuric acid.”

On another interview with BBC, Hawking said.

Stephen Hawking views on Pollution and Environment

Hawking explained how humans have become stupid and greedy. He said, “Six years ago I was worried about pollution and overcrowding. They have gotten worse since then. The population has grown by half a billion since our last meeting (six years prior), with no end in sight. At this rate, it will be eleven billion by 2100”.

Hawking observed that the major problem of pollution has excessively increased in the last five years.

“Air pollution has increased over the past five years,” he said, “More than 80% of inhabitants of urban areas are exposed to unsafe levels of air pollution.”

In different interviews, Hawking said: “We are close to the tipping point where global warming becomes irreversible. Trump’s action could push the Earth over the brink, to become like Venus, with a temperature of two hundred and fifty degrees, and raining sulphuric acid.

Stephen Hawking views on Artificial Intelligence abuse

Hawking was worried that artificial intelligence can destroy the human race. He warned people about the threat that genetically engineered viruses, nuclear war, global warming, and artificial intelligence pose.

“Just as we are seeing a step function increase in the spread of AI, something else is happening: the rise of ultra-nationalism, rightwing authoritarianism, and fascism,”

According to a researcher done by Kate Crawford in 2017.

Artificial intelligence is beneficial in several ways, but when it comes to the disadvantages it can be dangerous. Stephen William Hawking not only has views about the environment and climate change. But also have his view about science and philosophy, religion and atheism, politics.

Hawking honored with many award and prices for his contribution in his respective field. In 2015 Hawking received the BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award. In 2016 he received Pride of Britain Awards, a lifetime achievement award for his contribution to science and British culture.

The Stephen Hawking Medal for Science Communication is an award to honor the members of the art community for their contribution to the science to build awareness. This award was starred in 2016, provided annually.

“The best hope for the survival of the human race might be independent colonies in space.”
